Cartoony Cat/Raccoon Thing

This is my first attempt at some cartoony, stylized low-poly art. It was just meant as a quick test for myself, and thus it's not something I intended to make all that polished. It was more of a test drive.

As I started hand painting the models I ended up going a little more into detail than I originally planned, so in hindsight I could have made the models a little more detailed to make it look better overall. But it was also a little test to see how much I could get the textures to sell the look rather than the meshes.

I learned a lot regardless, among other things that for my next project in a similar style I need to make details much larger and make them pop out more. One example of this is the stitching on his shorts. It can't even be seen unless you're really close.

I've given the character a simple rig, and I will be creating a short animation which I will upload when done.

Better closeup from inside Blender. Yeah it's rough, and I could've spent time making it super polished, but that wasn't the intention with this project.
